History
The history of SE begins with wood. Wood was the main raw material used for fish packaging in Denmark during the 1930´s, and fish packaging is what SE has been all about through the years.
When plastic made its entry into the industry, in the beginning of the 1970´s, SE followed suit. The first step was to buy a washing line to wash boxes. The next step was taken in the beginning of the 1980´s with the SE System, organizing fish boxes into a system, which meant that customers no longer had to worry about collecting, returning and cleaning the boxes.
SE´s headquarters are located in Skagen, one of Europe´s biggest ports for pelagic fish. The immense landings of pelagic fish in Skagen was in fact what created the foundation for buying the first boxes and organising them into a system. Since then the system has spread out to cover almost all fish species distributed in Northern and Central Europe.
The logistics of the SE System are arranged and carried out at the headoffice in Skagen. SE´s washing station is also located in the town of Skagen.
